Michel van der Hoek: question
I really like your difficulty levels for the mastermind game. I was wondering whether you know if there is a source code for playing mastermind against a computer, for which you can change the intelligence level of the computer answers (thus easy, difficult). So you and the computer give guesses after another, to find the correct sequence as fast as possible. Do you know if this exists and where I can get a source code (in Java)?

Hi Michel,
there is a source code available on my MasterMind page. It is however in JavaScript and only for the hiding part. The strategy it uses is quite simple:
Hiding (in the difficult level): It anwers is such a way that there remain most still valid combinations.
I once (long long ago) coded also a very simple searching strategy: It simply picked randomly any of the still valid combiantions. But I am sure, there is a better one :-)

Ich hab dein Spielchen auf einer meiner Seiten eingebaut und hab nun folgendes Problem:
Wenn ich zuerst die Demo laufen lasse und anschließend das Spiel normal starte ( also nicht reloade ) wird das Alert-Fensterchen bei Spielende nicht mehr angezeigt ...
Deshalb hab ich die Demo erst mal rausgenommen
